Who is Zorn? Well, the answer to that question is simple. He is a Medulkhan warrior from the planet of Sharquill Jeron in the Vertis Pelago Constellation approximately eight thousand years into the future. A figment of my imagination, I based the character of Zorn on the mighty characters of the 'Vikings'. He is similar in stature, temperament, possesses creative, fighting abilities and uses telekinesis to communicate with his friends and with the magnificent, golden orb eagles of the valley.
In considering Zorn's characteristics, I wanted to mold a character of not just physical strength, but also strength of mind and spirit. Zorn is that character. Tested in many ways through the trials and tribulations of his life, Zorn excels in all areas. He is kind, he is wise, but he is fierce to defend those less fortunate. Don't we all need a 'Zorn' in our lives? Throughout the course of this novel and, indeed, in the following novels, I want to present Zorn as an example for all of us to follow. Not in a biblical sense, but more attuned to a superhero with superhuman morals and ethics. And what is wrong with that? Absolutely nothing. There is not enough puritanical virtue in this world. It is my intention to display Zorn this way.
Of course, Zorn is not alone in the development of this story. He is served by a righteous mother, Nerina, and a strong father, Skoll. Together, they have bonded, nurtured and grown their family with traditional values that are buried deep within the Medulkhan psyche and culture. Apart from the obvious plot directions I have constructed, Zorn, Hunter and Warrior is a story about the reflection and development of character and the moral choices one makes when placed in situations of great duress. There are lessons to learn from this story. How we choose to fight adversity is up to us. I hope you enjoy Zorn, Hunter and Warrior.
