Gilford Wigglefin is Vernon's best friend. He is kind, thoughtful and mature beyond his years.
Sir Terrence Testudine is an imperialist turtle who fears nothing. He has great influence in the government. Sir Filbert Frogmore is the governor of the pond. He is a deep thinker who believes in democracy and fair play.
Mrs Gwendolyn Googlyeyes is the pond's biggest busy-body, However, she has a heart of gold and serves the community well.
Walter Wigglefin is Gilford's dad. Walter worked at the muscle cleaning factory. He is outspoken, but a good and loving father.

Dr Victor Sturgeon is the pre-eminent surgeon at Whistleweed Hospital. He is fastidious and methodical. He is married to Eleanor and has two children.
Mrs Harriet Toadfish is a loving friend to Mrs Googlyeyes. She is thoughtful, considerate and loyal.
Buster Brownfin is Gloopy Hollows High School's wrestling champion. He befriends Gilford and Vernon.
Officer Wakins is a policefish who regularly patrols Azolla Mall. He is stern and wise, but forgiving.
Marty 'The Don' Mosquitolini is the 'Mr Big' of mosquitos in the pond. He leads the Mosquito Mafia and is brutal, yet surprisingly gentle at times.
Oswald Owlens is Ernie Eagle's friend. Oswald belongs to the Wise Council of the Owls who pontificate on every issue surrounding the pond. Ernie Eagle is a wonderful 'Aussie' eagle who travels to Idaho to help Oswald find a solution to the noisy ravens running amok in the forest trees.
